The Electrical Department within the mining sector is currently seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Electrician to support daily electrical operations at mining sites. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that electrical systems, machinery, and infrastructure operate efficiently and safely to support uninterrupted production.

Mining electrical environments are highly regulated and demand strict adherence to safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of electrical equipment used in both surface and underground mining operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment
  • Conducting routine inspections on electrical installations and machinery
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act regulations
  • Maintaining electrical panels, motors, cables, and lighting systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Recognised Electrician Trade Test Certificate
  • Valid electrical qualification accredited in South Africa
  • Mining electrical experience (advantageous)
  • Medical fitness certificate for mining environment
  • Ability to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
